“Combining blistering instrumentation with very personal-feeling songs, Bronwyn sheds any residual typecasting as being a side person only, and vaults herself into headliner consideration in the bluegrass space.” – Saving Country Music
“‘Sticks and Stones,’ which contains the album’s title phrase, dashes off feverishly, guided by Bronwyn’s (Bronwyn Keith-Hyne[s]) fiery fiddling and fueled by rapid-fire mandolin, guitar, and banjo picking. Each player gets to stretch out momentarily on the two instrumental bridges, with Bronwyn and guitarist Bryan Sutton trading licks on the second bridge. The song mimics the rattling of a tour bus and evokes the tiredness and excitement of being on the road.” – Folk Alley
